I've been wanting to make a YouTube channel in the Cambodian language for many years, and it's so unnatural talking to a glass lens, I still look so weird on camera. But I've had so many friends who do a lot of video recommend recording myself even if I don't intend to use it. That goes inline with this way of thinking, just spend the hours in front of the camera until it eventually gets natural.
I'm not a video person either and I'm sure it takes tons of practice and years before you feel comfortable especially if it's not natural to you, some people love the camera. I say go for it, even if it's just a learning experience, perhaps you pivot into podcasting and just talking without video instead, but you'll never know until you give it a go
