A Native American holds a mobile phone in a picture painted in 1937.

It represents a scene of the America of century XVII.

In 1937 the Italian artist Umberto Romano made this picture, with the name of "Mr. Pynchon and the settlement of Springfield" and it was to reflect the arrival of William Pynchon, an English colonizer known for founding the city of Springfield in Massachusetts, United States.

The daily life of the Native Americans and the Western settlers was represented here. So far all normal, like so many paintings, if not for a detail. One of the natives holds in his right hand what could be a current smartphone, both by the appearance, size and position in which it holds. It was the year 1636.

It should be remembered that the first mobile phone was released for sale Apple in 2007, thus beginning the commercial launch of the iPhone series. And the scene depicting the picture is about a moment in the history of almost four centuries ago.

The theories that explain this surprising phenomenon range from the two extremes, which show it as a test of time travel, and those who claim that it could well be a mirror.
