River of the colors of colombia

in #life7 years ago (edited)

In the Serranía de la Macarena there are many streams that can be found. However, none is as majestic as Caño Cristales, a space that can not even be compared to any place by its characteristics. The perfect season begins to visit this wonderful rainbow in the water, because the rainy season from June to December is the one that allows you to see the different colors of the river.

Today we present seven reasons why you should plan your trip to a unique experience in Caño Cristales:

By their colors:

Called by the journalist Andrés Hurtado as "the river that escaped from Paradise", Caño Cristales has been reviewed even in the National Geographic Magazine for a singular characteristic: its waters are stained with fuchsia and along its route you can also see the Red, blue, black and yellow. A rainbow you can even touch.

Because of the geological importance of the place:

The Serrania de la Macarena, which is located to the east of Colombia, has rocks of more than 1.2 billion years ago, the oldest of the planet! In the Macarena there is the extension of the Guayanés Shield, a geological formation that extends by Brazil, Suriname, French Guiana, Guyana, Venezuela and a region of Colombia in the Amazon and the department of Guainía.

Because the magic will start with a couple of drops:

The Macarenia Clavigera is the plant that gives the color fuchsia to the waters of Caño Cristales. If it does not rain (from January to June), the river will dry and also the plant, exposing the impressive rock layer of the place. However, with a moderate rain, the waters grow, the Macarenia clavigera returns to its state of splendor and Caño Cristales shines for its spectacularity.

Because it is the ideal setting to disconnect from the city:

Without buildings, trancones or anxieties, from your arrival to Caño Cristales you will be in a completely natural environment that has not yet been intervened by the human being. Breathe fresh air, take the energy of the place and let yourself be inspired by the colors, vegetation and sounds of the Colombian jungle.

Because it is full of diversity:

Although you will not find fish in the water, as the Macarena region existed before even Los Andes is one of the most diverse places in fauna and flora worldwide, some even suggest that it may occupy the first place. In your visit you can cross with one of 420 species of birds or 43 reptiles, to name just a few, as well as some exotic species of orchid near an imposing ancient tree. (You can also read:

Because the adventure begins even before reaching the river:

You will find multiple tourist plans to visit the river of the five colors that will promise you travel routes by light aircraft, along the river, the road and even on foot. To know the best Caño Cristales you will have to cross the humidity and the heat of the tropical forest in stretches that are possible only by walking and that is part of the discovery and the charm of the place. Once you get home, your adventurous spirit will want to experience the Caño Cristales experience again and again.

Because an ancient mystic will envelop you:

The geographical location of the place and the little contact that the industrialized man has had with the area makes it still remain the indigenous culture and the traditions of different tribes like the Guayaberos. On the rocks of the river you will find cave paintings and you can hear legends like the "Three Mirrors", which tells the story of how the tribes delivered their offerings to the river at night and the reflection of the moon showed on the stones the future of community.
