My recent purchase: A mini crossbow
This weekend we ventured out to the mall and I stopped at a store I had never been in before. Why I have never been in it before, I have no idea because it really is one of the coolest stores I have ever seen.
The store is called "Xtreme Lifestyles".
You can visit their website here:

The store is really neat in that you can buy all sorts of authentic weapons and other cool gadgets. They have all kinds of swords, knives, throwing stars, axes, and basically any other kind of weapon you can imagine. Here are some images from their store:
Most of these weapons would never be needed for anything more than just to look at, but it is pretty neat never the less. As you can see, they also have all kinds of different body armor, vests, pepper sprays, tasers, and night sticks as well. Basically if you can imagine it and it has to do with fighting or protection, this store has it.
After ogling over just about everything in the store, I stumbled upon this little beauty:
A mini crossbow with an 80 lbs. draw.
I don't really know much about crossbows but considering the other mini ones that I saw only had 50 lbs. draws, I figured I had better get the more powerful one. Also, at a price of $40, it didn't break the bank like it's bigger cousin would have. So, after mulling it over for a couple minutes I made the only logical decision available to me, I purchased it.
And, of course after I purchased it I knew I had better get some extra ammo considering it only came with 3 bolts (I guess bolts are another name for mini arrows? See, I am learning already). So, I grabbed a box of these:
Unfortunately I haven't gotten to test it out just yet because the family won't let me test it out in the house, for some odd reason. However, we are planning a camping trip next weekend and I plan to take it up there to give it a try. I will write my full review on it then. For now, I have assembled it and I just get to look at it and imagine how cool it will be to try out.
Why did I buy a mini crossbow you might ask?
Well that would be the same question my family would like to know. Unless you are a guy you probably won't understand our strange fascination with things like this. Sometimes we just need to buy cool manly things to satisfy some primal urge. :)
Live well my friends!

The crossbow among a handful of other weapons offers great levels of sustainability and the power to take down some essential food quite easily, if one knows how to aim. For $40.00, how could you go wrong? Great choice and I really look forward to read your thorough review. Now, I'm also curious about the material used to make this little "toy"?
Namaste :)
Great points! It's made of a composite plastic and fiberglass, with some metal parts as well. It feels pretty solid.
...And I sure hope it is light enough to pack everywhere, if need be? Namaste :)
It certainly is. It even fits in a back pack ;)
Too cool! You might be one of our next Robin Hood!? ;)
All for one and one for all! Namaste :)
It's a fun toy, and you can seriously hurt somebody with them. I am not sure where you are from, but for some European nations, crossbows are the best bet for home defense type of situations, or for those who like to prep. I know that here in the Netherlands, you can get them without permits, while guns are super hard to get. For 250 you can some great entry models from well known brands that can really easily kill a person or be used to hunt deer/boar. Not pistol ones, but normal size crossbows.
Yea I could see that. I have always wanted a crossbow at some point in my life and since it was hard to justify spending the $200+ that a good one costs, this was my next best option. I can already tell that this little one could do some damage... especially depending on what kind of dart you decide to shoot!
Wow! I hope you find a good use for it, far away from crowds. I know nothing about crossbows either. If it comes in thumb-wrestling size, maybe I'll get one.
Yea it is kind of one of those things that I just had to have.. and now that I do.. I am wondering what I am going to do with it, lol :)
Nice! We actually went out yesterday to get my boyfriend his own compound bow :-)
We've both been doing archery lately and I already got my own recurve bow. It's so much fun to do and eventually, we'll be good enough to do 3D shooting, without losing too many arrows. We can then go to places where they have set out 3D animals all throughout forests to shoot.
That is really neat and it sounds fun! Stay safe!
Looks mighty handy as a melee weapon too xD
Haha yep, it would likely get the job done ;)
Oh wow, I know exactly the feeling. We have a shop here in Glasgow almost exactly like that with a mini crossbow too. But my missus is emphatic about me not buying it!! I might buy it secretly though. Let us know how you get on!
Yea she was all for it until we got home and she saw that it was actually a weapon.. now she is not so much of a fan lol. I will let you know my thoughts in a couple weeks. My only fear is that it might be a bit "wimpy"... hopefully not.
Eighty pounds, I fear it might be the exact opposite of wimpy!! Look forward to it!
That is the hope! :)
I have one! I call it my zombie killer🤖
Head shots only? Haha is it a mini one or a full sized one? What are your impressions of it?
Mine is a mini, I go for the heart, the head is too small. I have a baseball bat for the double tap to the head😈
Wicked! haha
I grew up living with zombies, I have specialized training from birth...lolol
I escaped before they turned me into one of their kind.
I will not hesitate to bash the head of any zombies that try and invade my family.
I love practicing, it was difficult getting the sights leveled in, mines an 80lb zombie killer.
I guarantee that most of the stuff they sell will be decorative only, but an 80-lb mini crossbow could work as a small-game hunting tool. And any projectile weapon is fun for marksmanship regardless.
Yea I think you might be right about some of the bigger swords and shields etc... but they really had a good amount of home protection type stuff that was top notch as well. I was really impressed with the store. I handled quite a bit of the merchandise :)
My daughter-in-law has one as she enjoys deer hunting.
A mini one or a full sized one?
Not sure as she lives far away!
That looks amazing.
I'm hoping it shoots equally amazing :)
