If you want to teach english to someone, you have to know some specific characteristic of each students, just like, ages, studies level, social condition, and others. For representative teaching it is important the technologies uses as strategies, because it is necessary to be running in the same way with the technology advances, according of our posibilities.
Each country have its language, and if we want to know something abut that country, we have to learn their language first, if we want to hace access to their culture and whatever interesting information. so this is one of the importance to learn an specific language, when someone visit a foreign country.
Nowadays apart of the mother language, it is important to know another one, and the learning it become easiser if we do it in a natural way, as we learnt the mother language, this ability is more developed in some person than another, but for the best result in foreign language learning, it is necessary a well prepared teacher,( including natives ) in order to have an amazing learning or just find a good interactive and autodidactic course.

and remember...the daily practice make perfection.
