August 2nd...My Favorite Day Of The Year
What makes August 2nd so special?
Is it because it falls on a Thursday this year?
Is it because it's extremely warm today?
Why do I love this day so much...
Well it started 17 years ago today when this happened...
I was living in Calgary Alberta and my first son was born. Healthy and full of life! He's celebrating his 17th birthday today and remember that old saying about 'how time flies'?
Wow....These past 17 years have been a blur and I'm honored to be this kid's father.
He's turned into an amazing young man, extremely smart and ever so witty...In fact he's even on Steemit under @irbepads and I'm harassing him daily to get motivated and start posting more :)
We're about to embark on a two week trip to the west coast of Canada in the next few days, so expect to see a lot more of him in my posts this summer!
But wait....There's more...
August 2nd 2015 is when I got SUPER lucky and fooled my wife into marrying me ;)
3 years ago today, she said 'I do' and while it's been an adventure, she's been my rock! The drama and struggles of my online business have been extremely stressful but she's been by my side, supporting me every step of the way. I told her I believe in STEEM and want to focus my energy here over the next few years and she said...If you believe in it, I believe in you!
I don't know how God blessed me with her, but I thank Him everyday!
On top of that, about a year ago we got this little bundle of joy in our life...
(I'm already preparing him for a career in content creation lol)
So yeah....I'm a big fan of August 2nd :)
But what does this have to do with STEEM....At all? And why am I sharing this?
I'm preparing you for a BIG blog post I have planned in the next few days....It'll talk about 'Your reason WHY' and how important it is to your journey here on Steemit and the STEEM blockchain...
My reason(s) WHY play a big part in everything I do everyday here...And today I'm reminded oh how blessed and lucky I am to have them all in my life!

My, my, time does fly! I remember discussions about diapers and feeding times in 2001 when we first met. Now, he is a young man moving forward on his journey.
Add in Ms. Olson and the new baby, and things have, indeed, changed from where we started - all for the better!
Keep on doing what you are, Jon. It seems to be working!

Believe me I totally understand! Gloria is my rock and understands if I have to be away or unavailable. I did the you know what for a while... ugh. Now doing more things that allow me to grow as a person and an artist!
