Charlie Gard

Someone please explain to me why so called compassionate people would not do everything in their power to save this little boy. The English government says that the treatment is experimental, but it has successfully treated two other children with the same condition. The parents have raised the money to treat him although two hospitals have offered to treat him for free. Why would anyone just let him die?
