Car Repair Delimna! Fix it or Junk it?
I just found out that my teenage son’s car needs $2,438usd but the car is only worth about $2,000usd. He loves this car and wants to keep it but I don’t know if it is the best option.
I know that the mechanic is honest and giving me his best pricing on the repairs. And he believes that once these repairs are completed there should be no more immediate needs.
Do I repair this car or trade it using the trade in value and the money I would have paid for the repairs to get him another used car with less wear and tear, but he will not like as much?

That's weird, cause Mercs of these years are quite well-built. You can look for used spare parts - it's gonna lower the costs, and don't feed the dealers

KBB on my vehicle isn't quite a thousand dollars. When I researched the cost to repair it, it will cost almost as much as the vehicle is worth (99 mustang). I'm going to buy the parts and do as much of the work as I can with my friend. If we do it all and I pay him for his time, it'll save about half the cost.
O'Reilly auto parts has online coupons right now for $20 off a $100 purchase and $30 off $150. I'll be trying to split the parts into two purchases to maximize savings.
I'd definitely repair it. Get a cheap used welding machine and repair it with the help of youtube videos :-)
I always try to fix my car on my own. It's much cheaper than using car repair services but obviously, it takes more time. Before starting a repair I read articles to choose the best car parts.
