Nice post @kristinaljfom. I use aromatherapy by smelling essential oils from the bottle, but I also diffuse them daily. I have been using doTERRA essential oils for a year now, and I teach people how they can use them to take care of their health naturally.
A term Aromatherapy was derived from the fact that essential oils are by nature aromatic and their aroma can have a powerful effect on physiologic, mental and emotional responses.
Essential oils work with the amygdala which is the emotional center of the libic system (brain), which is connected to the part of the brain that controls heart rate, blood pressure, memory, breathing, stress and digestion.
The amygdala (part of the brain that stores and interprets emotions)plays a crucial role in developing negative moods. The molecular structure of an essential oils lets it to enter the bloodstream fast and produces fast and potent results regulating emotions in ways the conscous mind may not do it as efficiently.
