Nation in mourning
In this country baseball players remind us of one thing; and that is because we are good Venezuelans. Extreme joy, perseverance, the fight against poverty, success, friendship, familiarity, solidarity of the neighborhood, constancy of parents, the reach of social organizations around the development of sports skills (as is the case of the organization Criollitos de Venezuela) and the fighting spirit that results in hugs and triumphs. We feel them closer than any other professional, because they are ours, they left the block, the neighborhood, the sector; from the city.
Luis Valbuena and José Castillo were that, an inspiration of triumph, and for that reason our murder hurts us so deeply. Without needing to inquire, we clearly know that they were children, that they fought for a dream and they succeeded. They were the hope that walked for years of the hand of his parents to the stadium to practice, to play ...; to dream. To become progressively people who made us happy with their effort, and filled us with passion with their work. And also, they served as an example of thousands of children who aspire to be like them and not like Nicolás Maduro.
Remember the news of that night of Friday, December 7, twists our soul. It reminds us how bad all Venezuelans suffer, because of the indolence and cruelty of those who have governed Venezuela in the last 20 years. It stops us in reflection, and freezes us in the scourge of thinking: "What if it had been me?" It lands us in the fragility of living in a society violated and governed by criminals.
The state of Yaracuy closed in 2017 with 47 homicides per 100,000 inhabitants, translating into more than one murder per day. The criminal organization in the state of Yaracuy moves around the assaults on highways and the theft of agricultural companies. For 20 years we have consolidated bands that continue to mourn our lives. And the police bodies; or are absent, or benefit from these organizations.
Castillo and Valbuena will be forever in the beautiful memory of the Venezuela of dreams reached. His legacies were marked in the hearts of all Venezuelans. In honor of them, we will not stop fighting for justice and the absolute departure from this criminal regime. Peace to your soul and resignation to your relatives.
