It's the dawning of a new day, feeling the brightness of the environment; the sun rises from the east and makes its way westward across the sky providing energy and light the day's activities.

I caught this unique sunrise today on my camera and I it immediately sprout a steemit topic idea to me lolz.

Philosophy and psychology both often focus on the self, which generally refers to the source of unique consciousness in a unified being. In other words, the self is generally seen as that thing in us that thinks and makes decisions.

Actually, the mind is not a unified being. It is a natural machine composed of several parts. The mind has many different desires, feelings and instincts. The ego is actually a construct of the mind and society.

Why you should choose Uniqueness over Specialness

Being Special involves comparison with others. We constantly evaluate everyone we meet, decide how special we are compared to them, and then we bother when no one else sees that distinction.

On the other hand, the Uniqueness is only about us. When we are comfortable with who we are and we can recognize our own value and value based on our individuality, life is much easier all the way around. The biggest advantage to our mind is that being happy about who we are free up all that energy that needing to be special takes. It is the energy we now have available to pursue our goals, focusing on our journey to integrity, the art of being our best self.

Finding Your Unique Strengths

Recognizing your unique blend of talents and gifts is the first step in discovering who you truly are.

• Think of your childhood dreams so as to get clues about your early conditioning.
• You can ask your friends to help you out in identifying your gifts.
• Keep a journal of questions and answers and refer to it often as a way of focusing on the specific characteristics of yourself and the dreams you hold dear.
• Learn to use any tool that helps you find a way to dig deeper into yourself.
• If you have found your talents and strengths, you know you are unique. It gives you confidence and a sense of stability. That does not mean that you go around telling individuals how different you are. * This awareness is just a recognition of what you brought into this life. Be sure you follow these gifts and talents; let them guide you.

Throughout history, there were people who were different and unique. Now, think of some of these people: Plato, Socrates, Jesus, Copernicus, Leonardo Da Vinci, Galileo Galilei, Saint Joan of Arc, Marie Curie, Thomas Edison, Albert Einstein, Amelia Earhart, Rosa Parks, Steven Jobs and hopefully YOU!! Will you be your own unique self and express to the world that? Or will you abdicate that part of you in favour of following the crowd?

Do not let anyone tell you what you should do.

Do not let anyone tell you that you are not good enough to fulfill your dreams.

Identify as much as possible with your dreams, as they are the surest guides in your life. They will show you where to go.
