I haven't noticed until now that my profile picture was dated and worst, I didn't have a cover photo for my profile which was dumb of me since I tried making cover photos for other people. I personally think that a good looking profile (or at least a decent looking one) would be more inviting than just an empty one, you can think of it like your face, if your face looks good more people would likely entertain you if you have questions and ultimately you feel good. Since Steemit is a social media platform you can think of your profile as your face, a good looking profile is a profile someone would want to look at or even talk to .

SO I THOUGHT IT WAS ABOUT TIME TO HAVE A PROFILE MAKEOVER!!!!

The first thing I wanted to change was my profile picture. My old profile picture was a picture that I got from the internet of a random ocean which was decent but didn't really fit to be a profile picture. I didn't want to put in a picture of my face since I thought it would deter people to actually look at my profile (hahahaha jk), so what I wanted to do was make a cartoon version of me instead. After searching for a few sites that would allow me to make cartoon avatars, my friend introduced me to chanrio. A cute little website where you can make cute avatars of yourself.

The site is mostly in Japanese but you can figure it out as they're are also parts that are english. The avatar creation portion of the website allows you to mix and match with a lot of different hairstyles, eyes, clothes, accessories etc. You could spend hours mixing and matching to make your avatar self!

After playing around with the site a few minutes I ended up with this cute little guy. Isn't he lovely?!

Now he doesn't exactly look like me but he does have my hair and he wears glasses like me! That is also what I like about the website since there are a lot of different choices you can go crazy with avatars you make!

After I was able to stop myself from making more cute avatars I opened the image up on Photoshop to extract just the head part of it, because when I used the full image it would be too small to appreciate.

Next was my cover photo I wanted it to be simple as well as have a relax vibe to it. The first thing that came to mind was maldives because I absolutely adore maldives and hope someday I'll be able to go there. A quick search in google gave me this result

I thought it was great, a little bright but nothing that an overlay couldn't fix. So that's what I exactly did. Opened up photoshop, adjusted the image to fit the 2048x512 requirement for a nice looking cover photo and added a dark overlay on it. Thus producing this image.

It looked a lot better now, but I wasn't convinced just yet I also wanted to incorporate the avatar again in the cover photo as I was afraid no one would see the details on my profile picture and a part of steemit was missing on the whole image. I ended up deciding to make sure to at least be able to see the head of the avatar and add the logo, but the question was where do I put it? After playing around with the position of the avatar so it would be seen on the screen and the position of the steemit logo, I ended up with a cover image that I was not only happy with but proud of making.
