Movie Review - Maximum Overdrive.
Welcome to another horror movie review.
I will be reviewing a horror movie every night for the foreseeable future.
That includes just about every genre of horror that you can imagine.
Tonight we have a comedy horror movie that stands tall among my favorites.
Stephen King's Masterpiece of Terror directed by the master himself.
Maximum Overdrive is not a terrifying movie.
Spiderman is probably a scarier movie than Maximum Overdrive.
Maximum Overdrive is, however, a masterful camp piece that has everything you want in the comedy horror genre.
Since it came out in 1986 you will likely recognize many of the actors from that era.
Emilio Estevez
Pat Hingle
Laura Harrington
Yeardley Smith
These faces should be familiar to anyone who grew up watching TV or movies during this time period.
Maximum Overdrive is about a bunch of trucks that come to life.
An asteroid or some other meteorological event causes machines of all types to basically wake up and attack their human owners.
People from all walks of life end up stranded together in a truck stop.
They have to come together to figure out how to survive the night and also how to do defeat the trucks.
There's gun fire and explosions, machine guns, dynamite, and all kinds of other interesting and unusual techniques involved.
It's a lot of fun.
To tell you the truth there's not a lot to the plot.
It's a tight, short, comedy horror movie that starts with a bang and ends as quickly as it starts.
Maximum Overdrive will keep you entertained the throughout the entire time though.
It truly is a masterpiece.

I have to say I count this in my list of favorites as well. Thanks for the review.

Still one of the best schlock horror movies I've seen to date.
