Losing a friend sucks.
When a person gets fired from my job often times we will lose touch.
This is of course the nature of things.
Most of the time there are people that you work with that you just associate with and that is that.
Every now and then though someone really touches you.

It's a sad feeling knowing that they will be gone and not coming back.
You are probably thinking that you can just contact that person outside of work.
Although you are correct there is a special relationship between work friends.
They are just close enough that you can talk about your issues without having to develop the type of relationship that exists outside of work.
Those kinds of relationships take a lot of work but the ones that you have in the workplace are much easier.
I lost a work friend this week and I will miss him a lot.
He has a lot of issues that don't appeal to me in and outside of work type of relationship.
However, I'll miss seeing his smiling face everyday and I wish him the best.
