How Loyalty is Important in Relationships
The only rule that I follow in my life is being loyal to myself. People always talk about how loyalty is important to stability and success of any relationship that you want to cherish for a long time. What loyalty actually means is more elusive than we ever think.
For me, being loyal is described as being faithful to one’s obligations, engagements and oaths. I strongly believe that loyalty is not a kind of obligation that can be imposed by outside influences. Loyalty is something that comes from inside. It is an internal characteristic that help you to make your decisions by keeping in view the things that really matter. When some outside factors impose typical obligations on you in order to become a loyal individual, it serves as a punishment in the long run. Loyalty can never be imposed by external factors because it is a habit, a behavior that begins from within and is guided by all the good moral principles.
- Loyalty has a demanding presence
In my experience, loyalty is always underappreciated in our society. Basically, the importance of loyalty lies in what we are capable of learning and gaining from it. Loyalty may not always benefit you but it will provide you a feeling of peace within your soul that cannot be bought by any materialistic thing of this world. It is a spacious ground of personal realm that only comes out of dedication, care, love and devotion.
No marriage, no friendship, and no other relation can last long if it does not have the element of loyalty in it. Things or relations eventually fail when you do not get sincere to them.
I guess, it is not like people do not care about loyalty. Everyone wants to have a bond that makes him feel like a very close one. But yes, we cannot deny the fact that life happens! We get busy, rude, and stressed out at times and lose sight of what is actually important in our life. Raging from any personal to professional relationship, dedication and devotion has a very appealing presence.
Just ask yourself that do you be loyal to those who have been always there for you? Do you stay the same with them even if they can’t help you anymore or even if it might hurt you? What? You inner self said NO? Remember my dear! What you give comes back to you whether it is loyalty or betrayal.
- How You Can Be Loyal?
When you are being loyal, you need to show that you can make commitment to something that is larger than yourself. Yes, we all know that we as humans are inherently selfish. There’s nothing wrong in thinking about yourself but the problem arises when you forget to think beyond yourself. Throughout our life we create a lot of relations in our home, schools, offices, clubs, organizations, and sports teams that require certain degree of loyalty from us. In order to have heathy relationships, you just need to think about setting your priorities in the right manner and not hurting your fellows with a selfish attitude.
See, if you want to have good friends in life, you need to be a good friend. If you want people to treat you good, you will have to treat them good too. If you want someone to be with you in your roughs and toughs, you should be there with them in their hard phases of life. If you want your loved ones to text you first and ask you about how you are doing, you need to do the same. My point is, building and maintaining some relation requires a certain level of loyalty and attention in order to succeed. Believe me, it all lies in detail. These small parts make up a bigger and beautiful picture of loyalty only if you learn to dedicate your time to the details of your relations.
My friend, loyalty teaches you to be a responsible human. It teaches you to instill consideration and decency in your attitude. Being loyal is not at all easy. If it was that easy, everyone would be doing it easily. And beyond that, I would not be writing some words here to let you realize the value of royalty. Am I right? I guess, I am! Isn’t that so?
Being loyal is the important and appreciateable quality that an individual can have. If you find someone who has been loyal to you no matter what, never lose them. If you value some relationship, never make promises in it that you cannot make. Never say the words that your actions cannot handle because when you mistreat your longtime supporter, you create a lifelong enemy for you.
