Plastic Ocean
In February 2017, a whale was found sick in the ocean outside Sotra in my home country Norway.
Wardens had put the whale down after realising it wasn't going to live. However, during the autopsy they reviled in a grotesquely manner why the whale was sick, as they found 30 full sized plastic bags in its stomach.
Plastic bags do look like a jellyfish, which is one of the favourite meals of this particular whale, Cuvier’s beaked whale.
Plastic products are never really completely degraded, and ends up as small pieces (microplastic), and 97,5% of albatross chicks has plastic pieces in their stomachs!
More than 8 million Tons of plastic are dumped in the ocean every year!
By 2050 it is estimated that the are more plastic, than fish in the ocean.
I truly hope that the world and world leaders focus on urgent matters we can do something NOW, like getting rid of plastic in the ocean, and not on hypothetical changes found in models inside a lab, sold as hard science.
Hopefully, project like The Plastic Ocean Foundation (https://twitter.com/plasticoceans) can make a difference.
If we act now we can do a difference!

Psh, of course there will be more plastic than fish, at this rate of over-fishing we'll be fishless before then!
Sadly we can't change this issue as in Capitalism it's profitable to dump your garbage in the ocean. I'm working on smashing it so we can start actually caring for the environment and each other.
Ok, let's smash it together:)!
