Salutations.

I am JaiChai.

And if I haven't had the pleasure to make your acquaintance, it's always nice to meet a fellow Steemian.

I just read yet another brilliant post by @arbitraykitten:

https://steemit.com/life/@arbitrarykitten/never-settle#@jaichai/re-arbitrarykitten-never-settle-20171103t041053006z

Then I posted this comment/reply:

@arbitraykitten,

Loved your post, amiga.

For our fellow Steemians:

Life's Left-Overs Suck!

Those who believe they are not worthy to sit at the table must be satisfied with crumbs left behind.

If you cannot muster up the courage and go for what you want, you limit your choices to whatever's left over after everyone else has chosen.

ug.jpg

End Result? A life of silent desperation.

I challenge everyone to make that courageous choice.

You know the one I'm talking about, don't you? That scary decision that doesn't guarantee you're gon'na get what you want.

That frightening unknown territory that makes you want to scurry back to familiar misery and well-known mediocrity.

Do it anyway.

Just do it!

You'll be surprised to find out that 99.9% of the bad things you envisioned was an illusion.

Have the strength (and sense of humor) to be the enigma.

Then you can truly dance with the universe.

And it only gets better and better from there...

Namaste, my friend.

About the Author

He is a retired U.S. Military veteran. Believing that school was too boring, he dropped out of High School early; only to earn an AA, BS and MBA in less than 4 years much later in life – while working full-time as a Navy/Marine Corps Medic. In spite of a fear of heights and deep water, he freefall parachuted out of airplanes and performed diving ops in very deep, open ocean water.

He spends his days on an island paradise with his teenage daughter, longtime girlfriend and three dogs.

You know those scenarios you play out in your head? Do they ever happen as you envision?

Didn't think so :)

Go after the uncertain. You will be pleasantly surprised <3

@arbitrarykitten,

Negative things are always over-exaggerated; while positive things never get top billing, no?

Thanks for the generosity.

Namaste,

JaiChai

I always remind people this too! They say "I won't go to that restaurant, it just got a bad review online."

... well, perhaps it was the customers fault? You never know... And, that place has been in business for years, surely one bad experience would keep you from trying a probably tasty dish?

My publisher told me for every 100 people who read a book, one will leave a review. And a good portion of those will be negative. Why? That's just the nature of the human.

@arbitraykitten,

That is so true.

I've also noticed that "sour-graping" is the norm when a socially acceptible excuse appears to be an easy exit from embarrassment.

But I also know that persistence is key.

BTW, after I re-read your comment, this popped into my twisted melon:

I wonder if that's like when I unconsciously project my own desires onto a woman with beautiful lips and think, "She's just dying for the chance to show me how she can devour a popsickle..."

Lol!

Namaste, my friend.

JaiChai!!!

Oh, you are such a boy!!

Well said. Life can change on a dime. Shoot for the moon and don't dwell on the past.

@kryptonaut,

Thanks for commenting.

The gift of our intellect can be a curse too. How so? We are the only species on Earth that can - and will - use or past to ruin the present; which in turn, f*cks up our future! Sadly, most people will continue to rinse and repeat...
