It reminds me of the frustrating ordeal of justifying my special warfare unit's budget every quarter.

In Front of the Budgetary Panel

"Sir, my Marines don't do 'gentle'. The present equipment is just, pardon my French, sh*t."

(Wuh-whaah-wuh-wuh-whaah-whaah)

"Yes Sir. Understand. 'Gentleness Awareness' training right away, Sir."

"But Sir, my marines don't do 'smart'."

WTF? During his VAST, three-year military career, doesn't this noob officer know what the f@ck the term 'Marine-Proof' is!?

"IMHO, the equipment is just expensive, complicated pieces of sh*t, Sir."

(Wuh-whaah-wuh-wuh-whaah-whaah)

"Yes Sir. 'Mindfullness' seminar and off-duty GED programs right away, Sir."

"Permission to speak freely, Sir?"

"The electric tooth brushes won't be necessary. My Marines don't care about brushing their teeth when they're knee-deep in sh*t..."

[Heavy Sigh...]

I freakin' give up!

"Yes Sir. The revised requisitions and budgetary proposals will be on your desk ASAP."

About the Author

He is a retired U.S. Military veteran. Believing that school was too boring, he dropped out of High School early; only to earn an AA, BS and MBA in less than four years much later in life – while working full-time as a Navy/Marine Corps Medic.

In spite of a fear of heights and deep water, he freefall parachuted out of airplanes and performed diving ops in very deep, open ocean water.

He spends his days on an island paradise with his teenage daughter, longtime girlfriend and three dogs.
