Excellent post, amiga - as usual.

Coming on to 55 y/o soon and retired since I was 40, I'm not in the same situation as you.

But believe me, I empathize.

You see, I ran away from home before I was 13 y/o; initially turning in aluminum cans and empty wine bottles for food money.

I lived in the car I stole from my sister - sort of (She hated that Pontiac Sunbird and knew my parents would get her a new car if I took hers).

And I literally got a sweat shop job putting caps on thousands of assembly line medicine bottles. That was one of the BETTER odd jobs I did to survive.

About the Author

He is a retired U.S. Military veteran. Believing that school was too boring, he dropped out of High School early; only to earn an AA, BS and MBA in less than 4 years much later in life – while working full-time as a Navy/Marine Corps Medic. In spite of a fear of heights and deep water, he freefall parachuted out of airplanes and performed diving ops in very deep, open ocean water.

He spends his days on an island paradise with his teenage daughter, longtime girlfriend and three dogs.

That's me, wondering who the f*ck my girlfriend is posing for! I kindly suggested to the stranger to bluetooth me the photo and buy the girls a drink.

After the tourist attempted to match me drink for drink - stupid idea, I have a very high tolerance for alcohol from many many years of practice, the man got sloppy, syllable-slurring drunk.

Go figure? He "lost" his phone.

Of course I "found" it later.

But before returning it, I deleted the photos of my girlfriend. Oops, I think I might have erased his whole library too?

Bad on me, no?
