State of the Nation Address - South Africa
The traditional State of the Nation Address, dubbed #SANO17 in South Africa, makes real good television. Well in the US and other countries , Red Carpet events is where celebrities has time to show off the latest fashion and promote themselves where possible.
In Africa, the State of the nation Address, is where our celebrities aka politicians can show off their fashion. In general most of South Africa's ruling party is a joke, but it all peaks out at the State of the nation address. It really makes good television, and during the evening of our State of the Nation Address, I always make sure the kids are bathed and in bed, before I take out the popcorn, and take a seat in front of the television as there will surely be some good action. 2017 was no different than previous years.

The EFF
The Economic Freedom Fighters or EFF are trying to make a stand against the president …

State prosecutors said on Friday that they needed time to study the High Court's ruling after it ordered that a 2009 decision to drop 783 corruption charges against President Jacob Zuma should be reviewed.
The court held that the decision of 1 April 2009‚ taken by Acting National Director of Public Prosecutions Mokotedi Mpshe to drop 783 charges‚ related to the arms deal‚ against Zuma was irrational and should be reviewed and set aside.

Its common knowledge to the whole world that Africa is being mismanaged by the so called leaders elected by the masses. I think the world (UN and other relevant bodies) need to sit down and discuss (I prefer impose) a new system of governance in Africa because democracy isn't working. Take Nigeria (my country) for instance, the "brain dead" population far supercedes those that can think right on their own. When election time comes, it is the gullible "brain dead" masses that provides the winning votes!
@multifacet ... One hundred percent ...
The majority stayed in our parliament chamber after the non-brain dead people left ... Nobody can change everything at once... but many things have been changed in life and it was done one step at a time.
this is hilarious stuff, but also extremely sad. I just hope SOME important things get done in that parliament building.. hmph!
It is extremely sad. The leading party of South Africa and many other people fought a long and hard battle for many years to get rid of the Apartheid Regime. Now the same people that fought for the Freedom, is taking advantage of their own, through corruption in tax money and many other ways. Like you said ... very very sad.
The true nature of politics?
Lol ... accurate as always
isnt' that always the way it works?
Thanks for sharing, I did not watch the news last night, now could also see what happened.
You missed out dude :)
