Be Careful Who You Listen To

in #life3 years ago

The famous line "don't take all the trouble, be careful who you listen too" is not as new as it used to be. In the past it was an expression that only had serious political connotations. But increasingly, it has become part of the general awareness. Too much interference in your private and personal affairs can damage your personal relationships and even put you in danger. So you have to take proper care of whom you listen to.

There are many reasons why you should be careful whom you listen to. Your friends can be very influential. Your friends might try to influence your actions and attitudes in a way that your own friends find uncomfortable. It is true that some of your friends will try to influence your views and opinions, but they have an important role to play and you have to respect their right to do so. Besides, other important relationships in your life are at stake!

At work, your boss can be as much of a friend as any of us. You might enjoy being with your boss, but it does not mean that you should blindly follow his or her advice. After all, most bosses are motivated by their own career advancement, not just as a way of showing up their colleagues. If they do badly, they will lose their jobs. So take some time out to think about which boss is best for you and how you can make the relationship between you and your boss more professional.

When it comes to your personal life, we all have our own friends and colleagues. You might find your personal circle of friends to be the most trustworthy people around. However, you should also realize that there are people out there who you should not listen to. You should not give them your personal advice based on what they told you. Remember that they probably wouldn't be doing something that would hurt you. And if they were, they would not be friends in the first place!

So how do you know whom you should listen to? You can ask others. This is the simplest solution and it might work for you. You might want to spend more time getting to know people personally so that you can trust what they say. In the meantime, however, you can follow your instincts. Listen carefully to what they tell you and if it sounds like something that could really benefit you then you should take the idea to your boss.

In business, your personal relationships and those of your colleagues are just as important as anything else in your life. So be careful who you listen too and remember to keep your personal relationships in good standing. Your professional reputation can be at stake! That's something you should keep well in mind.
