Who? Not You

How does it feel to reflect on the idea that when it comes to your identity, there is actually no "there" there?

There is also no "here" here.

There is no solid somebody that constitutes "me."

Buddhism has long made this claim, and now it appears to be getting a little backup from the field of neuroscience.

“Buddhists argue that nothing is constant, everything changes through time, you have a constantly changing stream of consciousness,” he tells Quartz. “And from a neuroscience perspective, the brain and body is constantly in flux. There’s nothing that corresponds to the sense that there’s an unchanging self.”

.... Neuroplasticity, as it’s called, endows people with the ability to grow and evolve, triumphing over bad habits and becoming more like the individuals they want to be.

That part probably sounds great, yet most of us don't allow us to really take advantage of this possibility because we're simply too attached to our idea of ourselves. We have this story, with this main character, and we want to see that character triumph. We want a happy story, and we don't feel that triumph if there is no sense of ownership of that character's victory.

Well, we are creative beings, and we do get to make up whatever we want, including ourselves.

It's interesting; my first serious journey into this came during research in the earliest days of the Internet; a group of us were studying people's responses to such (then new) concepts as "chat rooms."

We never published our book... Sherry Turkle at MIT beat us to it... but the whole idea was fascinating territory; in large part launched my own journey down a path of nonduality.

A person says "I am IN a chat room."

But where IS that, exactly? It actually exists no place. It comes into existence purely as a construct of mind. It's "location" is purely a set of electronic instructions.

LOL, it makes for a brain bending conversation.

Personally, I believe all comes from source, and we are all connected to that source infinitely.

All of our ideas come from source, and nothing belongs to anyone. No one "created" anything, no one "discovered" anything, all just was and is presented different ways.

Everything exists in a probability until the wave forms are collapsed into actual reality.

It all really boils down to the service to self, service to the "main character" as you say, or service to others, helping the collective.

In reality, we all serve ourself and serve the all, but its about where our intentions lie that determines where our energy goes. To really serve we must throw off these human illusions and be the consciousness we were born to be!! You are the one!!

We are all the all, and its high-time we act that way!!

That's why I designed cXc Ideas, an app we will release in 2020 where people can share their ideas with the collective consciousness of planet Earth, the opposite of copyrighting them.

Fascinating ideas and observations. Thanks so much for your comment.

Greetings @indigoocean, I am a Christian, I fully trust that people can change.
If you acquire knowledge and understanding of high principles this is good.
If you practice them and see improvement in your life, it's better.
Normally you make the changes that allow you to be someone better, this is wise.
Happy life.

It's important to know that people can change, and even more important to be willing to change ourselves. Our brains make it possible (where other animals don't have such neurological flexibility), but our habits make it less likely for us to actually do.

My God, I think that is the most difficult step.
The human being is terrified of change.
An example?
I am amazed at the millions of people who work for salaries that do not even allow them to pay for their passage on public transport. If you raise the possibility of carrying out an activity that can generate financial freedom; they call you crazy.
Oh, sorry, it's always a pleasure to talk to you and I can get a new post here :) :) :)

Fantastic blog thank you for sharing it.
When we choose not to evolve.that means you are unwilling to let go of ego.but to let go of one’s ego.we allow spiritual ascension to take place.🙏🏽

I like your way of putting that. Thanks for your comment.
