Infact, I like the view of the entire plot from the inside of the Hogan, why don't you consider refurbishing the Hogan and let it serve as a place for rest if you ever consider to build on it. Maybe you are still knee on not building but investing though. Just my opinion.
Meanwhile, where in overseas would you consider building your home?
There are so many possibilities once I commit to not building in the US. Ghana, Portugal, Italy, maybe southern Africa. My dog it getting older, so I'll stay here with her just renting for the rest of her life. Then whenever she passes on I'll travel for maybe a year, living a few months at a time in each of the places I'm considering. Then I'll pick a location after that.
This is really going to be a good adventure for you though, I wish you well in Timi Dakolo's voice (a Nigerian artiste who sang - “Wish me”)
Congratulations @indigooccean. Reselling the land might yield you huge profit, because has I can see from the photo, the place is developing to a community and so in some few years there will be high demand for the land.
That is definitely my hope!
gorgeous piece of land! so many people in the area live in homes like that! it's a DIY paradise for many. i'll follow your journey and where you end up living! land investment in that area is certainly a good one <3
Yes, I do regret not getting to work with some of the amazing natural builders I've met here. This is a natural building oasis of some sorts. But alas, the world calls.
:) the world calls. love it <3 truly looking forward to seeing where you are called. adventure awaits!
Beautiful country and sweet little tiny house. I would totally live there, at least for awhile. Nice retreat.
I’d planned to build a retreat cottage right beside it and make this an extra studio to go with it, but now I think I’ll let someone else build the dream.
Smart investment...That mountain view in the distance is worth the value you paid, aka priceless.
Not giving advice...lol...but someone wanting to live as a minimalist might find this a great place to lease. Yes, that building may be small to you; but, someone might pay a few hundred bucks a month to live in there for the peace and quiet of all...well worth the few repairs and sprucing up needed.
Of course, this would make you a landlord; but, a reliable tenant would be worth the extra dollars in the bank until you decide what to do with the land.
Personally, I had already begun designing the property to face the midnight view of the mountains with a rooftop balcony...lol...
Best regards.
Peace.
Yes, spacious views with lots of mountain and sky are becoming a daily delight.
The lack of indoor plumbing or a heater makes it unrentable right now. I'd have to really put some money into it. I'm not that motivated to earn a few hundred bucks a month. But however buys it from me in a few years may want it, so I may just keep it. Will see. It increases my taxes, but may not actually increase real value having it there.
Didn't think about that....worth considering if value of the structure will pay the tax difference long-term.
Plenty o' time for that...;+)
Enjoy!
Peace.
Nice stretch of land...where exactly is it located? Thanks for sharing!👍
This is New Mexico. You have to like that desert aesthetic, but it grows on you.
Congratulations!! Beautiful view too.
Thank you. I'm glad to have the purchase finally completed.
Beautiful area!
