There are people living in hutments which are located in a posh area, these inhabitants can easily sell their hutments and go live in a better home - but they don't.

The reason is karma - they are destined to live in poor conditions even when they have the means to live a good life.

We have heard this folklore from our elders - there was a very rich man who had lots of servants and everything money can buy, but he was advised against eating sweets or lavish food due to his poor digestive system - while his servants had their fill - the reason - in his previous life this same man use to be rich and donated a lot of food to the poor, but he never got down from his chariot to distribute the food himself - he always sent his servants. So now in this life, even though he has everything, the servants who delivered the alms were enjoying.
