Rice Coffee in Vigan(Philippines), anyone?

Being left on my own devices in Vigan is very rare, not that it can't be done but rarely, there's no inclination to do so. Our household was a bit hectic yesterday and with no internet to boot, an errand in Vigan for a necessity seemed the only solution. With my phone running in low battery, a coffee shop with less costumers was needed just so I can use its' wifi.

Mid-way along the famous Calle Crisologo, turn right on Calle Mabini and one can see "Coffee Break", it is sign-posted but partly hidden. On the outside, it doesn't look very welcoming, but pop inside and this coffee shop is transformed. It actually reminded me of tiny coffee shops in London, but this one have a mezzanine where couches, tiny tables, as well as leather-covered pillows are littered on the floor, japanese style.

Images of Vigan were beautifully arranged as wall decors along the stairs.

Tiny and compact, there are more tables near the door. Also, there is a clean toilet just outside the door but for costumers only. A few hotels are nearby for those tourists that flock along Calle Crisologo but for coffee, this place is like no other in Vigan.

Surprisingly, there were only us locals during that time probably because the dancing fountain was almost ready to start. Starting at 7pm, locals and tourists alike will be found there.

I can recommend its' rice coffee, although there were more to choose from. Beverages are cold and hot, accompanied with different cheese cakes.

One perk is the use of a socket for a dollar(a day!) so make sure to bring along your charger. One need a functional camera or phone when going around Vigan.
