Tai Lopez: A Professional Scam Artist?

in #life7 years ago

Chances are if you are reading this, then you are familiar with the infamous YouTuber, internet marketer, and online “guru” best known for his “Here in My Garage” YouTube ad and “67 Steps” program. He used to live with the Amish, and used to be dead broke. He uses his rags to riches story to draw in attention and promises that you can do the same, if you buy his programs.

PROS:

  • He gives free information, he used to do book reviews for free on YouTube before he turned the whole thing into a business idea.
  • Gets people to start reading,  I ran into his early videos he used to preach that you can learn from successful people through books and that you need to READ.
  • Great marketer, uses material goods like large houses and exotic cars to lure in attention.

CONS:

  • He claims to read one book a day, he DOES NOT do this. So he doesn't seem to be 100% truthful. He skims through and picks a few pointers and adds on his opinions, which is not necessary a bad thing
  • His paid programs tend to be overpriced. Around $1000
  • Recently his content doesn't seem to be informational, usually just him hanging out.

Overall his early free content was full of free information and had lessons in them, but today that doesn't seem to be the case. If you check out his older videos they have bits of information you can takeaway, he is the one who got me into reading. Before him I thought books were just too boring, since the U.S. school system constantly made student read books that were not of their interest. Starting to read books is something invaluable and I am thankful for that. I have gotten access to a few of his programs such as 67 Steps, Entrepreneurship, and persuasion but I personally don't think they are worth $1000. In my opinion, if you save that money and do your own research it will help jump start your "rags to riches" story.

I totally agree with @kissofearth upvoted

All these sociopaths thrives on the gullibility and vulnerability of common masses, these are the lowest of scums. Never liked him or his so called "programs", I always knew what he was doing lol.

Yea seems like it, especially recently he hasn't been producing any value. Most of his posts now seem to be just about doing giveaways to up his social media followers. Most people who follow him now seem to be doing it just for the giveaways

The sad fact of life is that people are lazy. They want to be told what to do and how to make money. Tai Lopez, just like the 1000s of others like him, is not a scammer, he's just telling people what they want to hear.

The funny thing is that this is exactly like religion. Wealth and freedom are the new unexplainables that people search for an answer for. He is filling the void for people too lazy to really look.
