Bangladesh: Running for Corrective Action But Why Not Preventive Action ?
Story One:
Recently Bangladesh government is establishing a burn and plastic surgery hospital in Dhaka city . The estimated cost of this 12-storied 500-bed hospital is 5.34 billion taka (Bangladesh currency). It is the largest burn and plastic surgery hospital in the world. But why do we need the largest burn hospital in Bangladesh ? That mean day by day our burn patients is increasing in our country. Can you imagine ? A 1,47,570 square kilometer country is establishing the largest burn hospital where cost is 5.34 billion taka. I am not proud for this hospital. Because I do not prefer corrective action.

We should find out the root cause for increasing the burn patients. How many dollar Bangladesh government spend for fire safety ? There are so many company's factory in Bangladesh where do not follow fire safety. Gas company use the low quality gas cylinder. CNG (Compact Natural Gas) driven vehicle use low quality gas cylinder for fuel. That's why so many people are injured by cylinder burst. But we can't take any action against cylinder company. We should spend money for preventive action regarding fire issue.
Story Two:
Last ten years we got so many special hospital in our country as like as Kidney hospital, Liver hospital, Neurological hospital etc. We feel proud that we are developing our country. But did you think once, why we established these hospital ? Because Kidney and liver patients are increasing day by day. According to the latest WHO data published in 2017 liver disease deaths in Bangladesh reached 22,346. Around 800,000 people in Bangladesh require dialysis as a substitute for many of the normal functions of a kidney. But why this situation ? We have to find out the root cause of these activities.
Excessive Pesticides
Excessive chemical in food, fish, fruits are one of the main reasons. So many companies are using chromium salt added tannery waste for poultry feed. Vegetable contains pesticides and excessive preservative is used in other consumable process food. That is why liver and kidney disease patients are increasing day by day. If we can't take any action against them, we have to run behind the corrective action.
Story three :
Recently economic minister said corruption is decreased due to increased the pay scale of the government employee in our country. But background is totally different, For receiving promotion letter, a government officer bound to bribe to his colleague. So pay scale is not responsible for bribe, administration weakness is the main responsible for this corruption. So we should find out the root cause of the occurrence and take preventive action.
Remove Corruptions
I love my country so much. So I can't endure any Inconsistency in my country. We are developing country, so we have to work hard for preventive action.

Our country needs to focus on education . Only education can prevent things from being at this scale . Also i dont see a problem in setting up the institutes cause it will enable to train more professionals and there is huge demand of plastic surgery professionals (dr , nurses) both home and abroad . Also national institute can collaborate with other agencies to formulate preventive guidelines at different levels.
I completely agree with you. We need more institutes but it not my concern. My concern is ratio between corrective and preventive action. You know, there are huge media in our country. How much money did they spend for awareness of fire and safety in media ? How many people are punished for supply of low quality Gas cylinder. There are so many example in Bangladesh where we never apply any preventive action against burn occurrence. thanks bro.... for your thinking

Corruption is main fact in our country. But I think it should change by some positive people. It's need those people and take action.

what an observation! really prevention is better than cure but everything goes here to reverse direction. nobody heed to root because root is not visible! we do only visible job (development in case of govt.)
yes we should spend money for preventive action regarding fire &disease issue not corrective action.
yes administration weakness is the main responsible for this corruption but if we do not change our mind than only administration or only increased the pay scale can not change this corruption

But now a days its hard to say this with a smile.
The govt should uproot the main root behind these occurrence .
We are reading news of accident that increasing day by day, the very next time when court wanted to punish them they do strike.
What to do when a govt person leading and supporting it!!
We take a victim of cylinder blast to the hospital, but why this happend! there is no inquiry. We are making hospital with people's money even it is more easier to prevent it if a govt want to.
5.34 billion BDT is such a huge amount.
Now wait for the news of percentage % cost for making it and % to fill others pocket.
Multi-national company, big garments buyer as like as H&M, C&A, Walmart etc maintain compliance that's why fire safety staying a tolerable levels. If they did't maintain compliance, burn occurrence will be epidemic in our country. Thank you for your nice understanding.
