Life : Lessons learnt

I wanted to share a few things I have learnt throughout my life journey.

1. Life is not a race
   Since the beginning of our existence, we have been subjected to competitions with each others, it is a culture instilled in us, you have to be the best kid in class, the fastest on a track field, etc. While this hold true to some extent, I feel in most cases we overlooked the trauma it eventually create in our lives, a burden one is forced to live with for the rest of your life.
   I believe, while you should have some defined races in your life, it should be within yourself, to improve on who you were yesterday, to reach the dream you had or reach the goals you set for yourself.

2. Always go big so you don’t go home
   "Go big or go home", While the idea behind is to encourage and motivate you to put in a 100% effort all the time, the reality is, there will always be someone better than you at some point, and unlike a class exam where there is a probability of each student scoring a 100%, life does not always work that way.

3. Do not force creativity
   As millennials, there has been a huge shift in status quo, the pressure on us to be innovative and or succeed in life has created a huge expectation beyond our abilities. Many a times we spend all our effort and time trying to force creativity and burning ourselves in the process. Think about the time you were told to go use the bathroom before bed as a child, it never worked, but that wasn't the case during the day as you were not forcing anything. At the end of the day, the best way to be creative is to find a real passion and let it flow naturally.

I guess what I really learnt at the end of the day is, do not put pressure on yourself, find what work for you and just enjoy life.
