When your fears find their way in,
When your thoughts find their way out,
When your grief gets the better the of you,
When your happiness seems like yesterday.
Do you run? Do you hide? Do you walk away from everything holy?
Just to sanction your mind in a safe place that does not exist.
Do you give up? Do you forget?
All that was beautiful once,
All that made you free.
Do you put on a mask? Do you part away?
With everything you once felt,
Just because it's too painful to feel again.
Do you give in to cowardice? Do you regress to everything you swore you would never?
Just because you would rather listen to your demons than face them.
Because you don't think you're good enough to be a hero.
Because you don't think you could ever make a difference.
Because you don't think you could ever find true happiness.
Because you don't think the sight of the sunrise is worth waking up to again.
Because you would rather suppress your deepest thoughts that have to face the disappointment.
Because every time you tried, you fell harder,
And everytime it was harder getting back up.
It's all so much more easy , to stop trying.
But the sight of the sunset gets you back up.
The fact that you made it one step further than where you were yesterday keeps you going.
The love you see between the skies and then land when they kiss,
the unmatched beauty,
Gives you hope for something more than
Dreary nights and emotionless days.
It's a beautiful day,
Today and every other day.
The earth never stops trying,
Neither should you, my love
