If you're alive in 30 years, it's likely you will be alive in 1000 years

Fellow Steemit members, Life extension is no joke!

It is being pursued, avidly, by the chief engineer at Google,
Ray Kurzweil, and is increasingly popular, with some scientists claiming we are mere decades away from the ultimate explosion of advancement.

Getting younger is an interesting concept. Literally, editing your cells and DNA, regrowing telomeres to bring them back to a youthful state; this is happening right now.

Increasing your life expectancy is something you can do any day of the week. Your DNA is either getting young and older; today you may be destined to die at 90, but eat the right foods, meditate and do a bit of exercise and all of the sudden you may be destined to die at 91. Coupled with direct genetic therapy, there is no telling how long we can maintain youth and health.

One thing is for certain, though. Death is not an absolute. Like with all things that seem absolute in science, we are bending the rules and figuring out how to alter the barriers.

As the globe collaborates and computing power continues to double every year, we are experiencing an acceleration of possibility. The image above, from Ray Kurzweil's book The Singularity is Near - When Humans Transcend Biology, predicts the computer to be more intelligent than a human brain. Indeed, with the advent of quantum computing, this does seem to be the case.

The advancement of computer technologies directly relate to the advancement of information technologies and help ides spread rapidly. When 3D printers can print medicine with coded blueprints, the information of how to create the medicine becomes as traded and important as the medicine itself.

So, if you can make it another 20 years, expect technology to have advanced so far that it will take you another 20. After those 40 years go by, you'll be able to utilize tech that lets you live another 40 years. Stay calm, keep posting at steemit and let's live a long and prosperous life.

☯ Steemit people, give us your thoughts about the possibilities, ideas and problems with this concept... An open discussion helps us move forward... ☯

I agree, eating the right foods and meditation can certainly improve quality of life and quantity. Free radicals from unhealthy foods cause oxidation and speed up the aging process, but healthy foods high in antioxidants are known to slow down aging.

Yeah! :D When we integrate different fields together, we have no idea what actually is possible... New combinations to make things more effective and our lifespan longer. Alan Watts and Jason Silva have unique approaches for this kind of matter, the3i1 and other steemit comrades, you should check them out !

This such a good advancement in life as people would want to live more and enjoy life the way they wanted it to be. But whatever a person does, we all die in time, we just don't know how and when.

What is important now is that we have to live a good life.

I couldn't agree more. However, we as the pilots of spaceship Earth, should have the possibility to exist in this current form for longer. Overpopulation is the question, however. But in general, yes. A good life and it being longer is superb, imho.

It's a great idea that definitely should be prioritized by the sciences. Now that even Google, Venter and de Grey are on it, I think there is a real chance right there that we get there in time. :D

Hopefully indeed! Cannot wait to see what 2200 is going to be like. :D
