The solidarity as human value

Hi dear steemians friends!!!

Today I will speak about a subject that touches on the very fiber of our Humanity, an underused or distorted concept for the benefit of some individuals or groups linked to the world powers and to the detriment of our human essence.

It is about solidarity, but what is solidarity for you? Is it collaboration with others? Is it love to the neighbor? Maybe there are many things at the same time, maybe it is circumstantial. I have my own criterion about it, where this term is multilateral and is fed by other values and definitions.

Let's review the academic meaning:

Solidarity is the support or circumstantial adherence to a cause or the interest of others, for example, in difficult situations. The word solidarity is of Latin origin "solidus" meaning "solidarity".

When two or more people unite and collaborate with each other to achieve a common goal, we speak of solidarity. Solidarity is to share with others both material and sentimental, is to offer help to others and a mutual collaboration between people.

As we see in this definition, it is linked to circumstantial facts where instinctively born in us, the impulse to help others. However, despite the "circumstantial" of the moment when the need for this value arises, there is a kind of primary impulse in many people to be more supportive than others, in the end solidarity can be born unconsciously or can be a result of a decision. Neither we should not confuse it with "charity" which is a concept principally linked to the theological one in which "we must help others in their miseries" but this concept has generated hot debates in the philosophical circles because it denotes relations of superiority of some groups with respect to others.

A typical example of solidarity is the International Red Cross, whose main function is to help and assist people who have special needs to preserve their lives and dignity during conflicts or when there are natural disasters.

Solidarity, in essencial way, is a synonym for collaboration, help, assistance, protection of the causes that generate a common good and that in general lines help the optimal coexistence of humanity.
