On a day to day basis, you’re most likely faced with ego. Whether it be of a loved one who’s feeling down or, a total stranger at work who just seems to be so angry for no reason. It can be especially frustrating if you’re working on yourself and, trying to grow while being surrounded by this energy. It’s an inevitable confrontation that you’re going to learn to deal with. I have dealt with many peoples egos on my journey and, I’m sure you have as well. One of my greatest teachers, Cameron Dube always says to me, “place love, in the face of hatred” which I believe to be so beautiful. Never fight hate with hate, all the ego wants to do feel negative feelings. So, why would you want to enable that, you would just be fueling the flames. Putting love in a place that feels pain is one of the most magical things you could do, it makes people reflect and it tells your own ego that it is not welcome.Everyone is right.

A good thing to keep in mind, everyone is always right in their own mind, you cannot change someone’s way of thinking. Only they can. You can provide them with your knowledge and understanding of the topic, but do so respectfully with good intentions. You cannot tell someone what to do because they’ll more likely than not get even more upset. It’s good to realize that everyone is right, in their own mind so there’s no sense in telling them they’re wrong, simply just present your points with no expectation. You can open a door for someone, but only they can choose to walk through it.

Respect.

Respect the people you’re talking to. You shouldn’t talk down to anyone. Don’t think you’re better than someone no one is better than anyone, we’re all equal, who’s to say that not having the ego is what’s good for you and, who’s to say your way of living is what’s right? You’re not better than anyone, and no one is better than you. Understand both sides, look at both perspectives, put yourself in their position. No matter what if people understand a concept within themselves, then nothing anyone could say to them will be right for them. Trying to explain a new concept to someone who is not ready to understand and for them to apply the concept will be nearly impossible and it would be like talking to a brick wall. Don’t waste your energy on people who won’t let themselves understand something you are passionate about. Don’t let your ego get the best of you. Your ego is not you, that asshole thinks you’re the best person alive. The ego wants to talk down to people, the ego wants to be the smartest person alive. You are not your ego, your true self loves and respects everyone and everything for what it is. You shouldn’t let your ego talk for you seeing as it does not respect it destroys, show nothing but love and respect only then can you be heard.

Be blunt.

You can’t just pussyfoot around, it is not like walking on eggshells. Don’t be afraid to tell people like it is. Being blunt is not the same as arguing, it’s tough love it's not beating around the bush you’ll achieve nothing that way. Beating around the bush is just another way to comfort the ego, if someone is doing something that is creating conflict or something that is harming themselves or others speak up, voice your opinions and thoughts on the matter. No one will listen to you unless you take charge. Keep in mind, everyone is always right, being blunt is a way to talk to the true self, break that barrier. Don’t sit the ego down and hold its hand, tell the true self that it is letting the ego create a window. You don’t want to just look out a window, you want to be outside. You doing this is allowing them to open up to a different perspective, it shows them that there are more ways of looking at things then their own. I personally feel being blunt is much more effective than just dicking around and, it will resonate with them more. So don’t be afraid to be blunt, your ego is the one that’s scared not you.
