How to cope when depressed

Depression is a stage when a person experiences excessive sadness which results into lack of socializing, loss of interest, easily annoyed, feeling of guilt and thought of harming oneself. Depression is a normal feeling but can be detrimental to our health when it persist all the time.

We can know that we are depressed if we keep on feeling bad, miserable and loosing interests in the things we love doing before, especially when the feelings keeps on persisting for days. Some people when depress, tend to isolate themselves from people including their family members.

The cause of depression is not known but it is scientifically linked to genetics and biochemicals in the brain. In the case of genetics, it has been researched that depression runs in many families today. The loss of love one, loneliness, stress etc are also a contributing factor to depression.

Ways by which we can can resuscitate ourselves and stop been depressed is by initiating and increasing our activities. Even though they are not what we feel like doing, we should strive to so as to deviate our attention away from thinking and feeling sorry for ourselves. We should also try to be around family and friends, people who will engage us in conversations and make us happy. Another way is to stop thinking negative thoughts about ourselves or feeling sorry for ourselves. This way, the feelings that we are loved and appreciated by family and friends will improve.

Depression is also like a challenge in which most of the people are thinking that it's uneasy to fight for but, if a person knows how to take it all out and make their mindset open, it would be a good use of something that can help them create a new thing in their life. :D

Depression is worrisome, it is a feeling related to sadness and melancholy. Getting out of it is difficult but not impossible, the easiest way is to keep busy, leaving the least time for sad thoughts and useless memories. Thank you @horpey

True, depression can be caused by a breakup or not getting a decent job.

Maybe it's also because someone doesn't get a (upvote), if depression occurs in steemian :D (kidding)

by continuing to think positively and occupy yourself with positive activities, depression will disappear or at least make someone better. In this case, the role of the closest family and people is needed by someone who is experiencing depression.
