On the dock of the bay

I suppose you're all familiar with the song, but if not, here's one of my favorite versions –

Why am I sharing this with you today? Well, essentially, it sums up what I'm feeling today. Obviously, if you wake up to see the current market, it doesn't get you overly excited about life. Don't worry, I'm not depressed or anything, I'm not losing faith, I still believe the market will perk up in a bit. (Do you hear that? Perk up, dammit!)

I suppose I should be getting busy until that happens, right? But I've got such a feeling of...laziness, I guess? A lack of desire to do things. Burnout, some would call it, and everyone seems to think it's such a bad word, but I think burnout periods are good for you. You need to recharge, I guess.
Or maybe that's just an excuse to just lazy around...who knows?

Either way, I'll take it.

The thing is the day was already off to a late start – I've been staying up till very late at night, which leads to me waking up rather late. Today, I dragged myself out of bed at noon, because I had some things to do. As a consequence, I'm tired now, regardless how much coffee I pour down my throat. We had my grandmother over for lunch, which is somewhat exhausting. I don't know about you, but I always get tired after interacting with people. Any people, even the ones I like. It's just tiring to talk and be...out of your own head for a few hours.
I'm not ashamed to admit I spent the last few hours playing on the computer with my brother and am now contemplating a walk.

You need things to make you happy, you know. Little treats. And speaking of little treats, I've just discovered this amazing show (no, it's not new, but I just discovered it...what do you want?) called Animal Kingdom, which is...yummy. Multiplied by 100.
Seriously, although I'm not too deep into the show yet, it seems to have a good storyline, strong characters and oh my sweet Jesus, hot men.

See?

I'm usually a sane, rational woman, but it's just been so long since I've seen a good show. Most of the shows on TV are crap, let's face it. Before starting to watch this, we checked out the Netflix show 'Troy: Fall of a City' and were sorely disappointed. The story of the Trojan War is awesome, I've always been a huge fan. But excuse me, a black Zeus? Uh-huh. I'm sorry, it's not racist, it's just...well, dumb. That's not how the ancient Greeks thoughts of Zeus. It just isn't. I get equal opportunity and all, but this is just absurd. And it wasn't just Zeus, it was Aeneas and also, Achillies. And if a show goes to such stupid lengths just to appease all the SJWs out there and the politically correct pussies, well, it's not worth my time. Sorry, not sorry.

But maybe not watching was a good thing, 'cause then I found these truly amazing men and now I'm much happier –

I wish I could tell you that like a good little Steemian, I'm dreaming of Bitcoin hitting $20,000 and I am...sort of, I just don't think it's going to happen very soon. It's on my list of what I'd like to see, sure, but until then, I'll just dream of these guys, till I see an improvement. I mean who knows, since 2008, Bitcoin has done so well, mostly without my knowledge.
I'm fairly new to this crypto world and in all the years leading up to that, it “grew” while I was admiring hot men, so maybe that has something to do with it. You can't be sure of anything, can you?

So, in case you're thinking 'hey, what's that @honeydue up to? I haven't heard from her today...', now you know, I'm mainly waiting for the time to pass so that sitting in front of the television become appropriate. I am going for a walk, during which I shall listen to some music and think of attractive men and how much I'd like to know them personally, because they all seem like such fine young lads, don't they?

Anyway, that's me for today. I hope tomorrow smiles down upon all of us, especially on the market. Until then.

Thank you for reading,

Sort:

A big part of the appeal of 'sitting on the dock in the bay' was the gravely sound of Otis Redding's voice.

Unless you could get Lee Marvin to sing it no one else could do it justice.

Love Otis Redding, but I also enjoy this version as well as the Shinedown cover ;)

I hope tomorrow smiles too,.
Market is really sick there days and ain't even giving go ahead to post work online
