President Trump has just enshrined as a national memorial the Civil Rights Movement and its icon, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Every person blessed by this day of rest to reflect on the meaning and profundity of the lives sacrificed to guarantee equality for all peoples in our country will now be perpetually confronted by the choice to act in good faith as they did or to act in malice as so many would compel us today. We clearly must bear the responsibility of sober thinking and judgment as many attempt to influence others by diminishing human nature to appearances. This is undignified conduct and unworthy of civil society. God has endowed each man with a body and has breathed His breath of life into each soul. This is our value. This is where life derives meaning.
