The child whose abdominal wall didn't develop before birth was wrapped in clingfilm to prevent infections.

Ava-Rose Nightingale from Wales was born with a condition called gastrochisis which means her intestines grow outside her body. The disorder prevented her abdominal wall from forming properly before birth and led to her shocking physical state.

Eva is finally home after staying in hospital for seven weeks when a three hour operation was carried out on her. She was given oxygen and her hair was shaved so that she could be fed intravenously through the head
