Two Continent-Size Mountains in Earth's Deep Mantle That Nobody Understands
We have 2 mountains of hot, compressed rock which is two continent size and scientists know nothing about them. Scientists call them 'Blobs'
These things known since 1970s, but we don't have any idea about that hunks of rocks. They are 1000 times higher than mount Everest. If they sit on the surface of the earth,international space station would have to go around them.
"They're among the largest things inside the Earth," University of Maryland geologist Ved Lekic told Eos reporter Jenessa Duncombe, "and yet we literally don't know what they are, where they came from, how long they've been around, or what they do."
