Falling In Love Debunked!

There's a terribly romantic notion of LOVE that's so deeply imbedded in depth of our beings that we don't even know how to question it.
How many movies?
How many songs?
How many novels glorify LOVE above all else?
And not the secure-constant-pillar-of-strength kind of love that can be the true foundation and core of our lives. That kind of love seems to leave artists uninspired.
It's all about is the kind of LOVE that obsesses your every waking moment and haunts your dreams at night.

THAT.

Well, to anyone that's still caught in the game, you should know that it's not just rigged, it's bogus. THAT is not LOVE at all. It's PASSION. It comes and it goes with absolutely no consideration for your best interest and it can leave your life entirely destroyed before leaving your life entirely.

The first time is the worst time. The confusion caused by buying into all the hype gives it huge amounts of undue significance. The object of desire seems to posses mysterious powers. We live at an intensity that makes the rest of our lives seem pale and pasty in comparison. But if you think about it, its 'intensity' is really more a matter of higher highs and lower lows. So ultimately it's just a wash, and we are stuck in the spin cycle.

Sometimes we are active participants. Sometimes it's completely against our will.

Like a magic spell it comes unbidden. It whispers of its deep significance. It promises pleasures beyond all imagining and, more often than not, it fails to deliver. In fact it's the opposite. Usually the pleasure will never be more real than the fantasies that are inspired. It's everything you imagine... and that's all it will ever be.

Of course occasionally it pans out. Eventually the dust can settle into a positive, functional relationship. The unattainable object of desire becomes that significant other, our soul mate. But once it becomes something to trust and depend on, to a large degree it loses its luminosity. Not that I'm knocking it, far from. At least it's real. When you find that, by any and all means HODL.

But much more commonly, it shows up at the wrong time and in impossible situations, trash talking the good thing you got going, and leaves you looking back, wondering what the hell you were thinking.

Start by calling love, love and passion, passion. They are two different things, not to be confused. And I'm calling passion out for masquerading under a false moniker.

When you're all caught up in something that makes every heartfelt love song sound like sound advice. Don't follow it. Don't fall for it. Neither should you try and ignore it because the power we encounter at such times is merely misappropriated, not non-existent.

It's an opportunity to partake of something beyond the normal sphere of human existence. The trick is to shift the target, and use it as a portal to a higher level of consciousness.
I'm hardly the first to make this claim. Check out the classic chakra system, sexual energy is only on the second rung. I'm just breaking it down for you, seeing it and saying it in a slightly different way.

Take a phenomenon that festers in the periphery of consciousness and give it real potential by dragging into center stage.

How you use it depends on where you're at. You could use it to write, or to unveil deep mysteries. You can use it could use it to fly airplanes or to make mountains of money. That really all depends on what you want to do. The point is that you're using it, instead of having it use you.
