In the book "The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym of Nantucket," written by Edgar Allan Poe, we learn the story of the four sailors who survived the sinking of their ship and were forced to eat a man on a ship called Richard Parker . He was claiming that this story was based on real events, but that was not the case.

46 years after the book was written, a ship crashed and crew members rescued showed how they had eaten a man named Richard Parker. This led to speculation that the famous American writer had a time machine.
