MANAGE YOUR WEAKNESSES... VOL. 1

Weakness is a quality or feature that prevents someone or something from being active, effective, or efficient. It is something you like so much that you are often unable to resist, withstand or overlook. Every human being is a perfect creature, personally designed by God to function and demonstrate some strengths in certain capacities. But as perfect as we are, we all have weaknesses, inabilities, and some inefficiencies that are peculiar to us. Therefore, it is important that a proper self-examination is conducted by individual in order to understand those factors that constitute both their strengths and weaknesses alike.
NOTE:
We all have some weaknesses that we may never overcome no matter how hard we try. But we must learn best ways to manage them to our personal advantages.

IDENTIFYING YOUR WEAKNESSES

The following are some of the ways by which we can identify our weaknesses:

  1. Self-examination: A careful examination of your actions, behaviours,beliefs, to see whether any of them is limiting your progress.

  2. Addiction: Anything you are addicted to or have strong desire for, whether it is food, drinking, material possession etc can be your weakness.

  3. Seek Opinions: Seek opinions of trusted people around you. Sometimes best assessment of our strengths and weaknesses can come from our close friends/relations.

  4. Personal Review: Review your past activities; decisions and actions alike, then evaluate what informed them and compare their results.

  5. Evaluate your Feeling: Feelings such as love, hate, emotional reactions, phobia, passion, kindness, sentiment, are often the basis of our strengths or weaknesses.

  6. Notice what you are Avoiding: Anything you are avoiding or fearful about, can also be your weaknesses. Especially those that trigger strong concern or resentment.

  7. Time and Resources: Analyze how you spend your time and on what you normally spend your resources. If such things are productive; they your strengths, if not, they can be your weaknesses.

    The biggest challenge faced by many of us is that we talk, complain and focus more on our weaknesses and as a result, left our strengths and abilities unattended to.
