RE: durian season has arrived#3

in #life8 years ago

Are these fruit from shared land, but there is no agreement about when to harvest? Or are they foraged from land that the harvesters do not own? Could people agree to harvest when they are really ready, and not before - or will other people come in and take them first? It's a real problem, I can see that!

Sort:

durian in fact it should not be harvested at the same time, to get a good durian have to wait for a windfall at the time ripe, not forcing harvest of all, because of the economy and local people they harvested all at once, the result of its poor quality durian

So they need a little money sooner, rather than more money later. That's hard to change, for sure!

that's the problem right now, it is unfortunate

If there is really a way to control access to the durian, there's an economic opportunity there. You would have to compute the total difference in sale income between the good quality and poor quality harvest. And then split part of that with the local people in advance, so they wait. But if there is no control of the access, then it will stay a problem. Good luck!

it's a good idea but I can not do that. I was still limited, I can only suggest to them
