Why parents are very permissive in today's life ?
Nowadays it is widely believed that more and more parents are not restrictive enough toward their children as opposed to the former fashion of upbringing. Especially the old claim that children should be taught to obey strict rules. To my mind, to some extent it is true.
First of all, the problem of parents being too permissive nowadays is connected with social issues and today's model of the family. Virtually, the majority of young couples are thought not to be able to maintain more than one child, and it is directly connected to their way of upbringing. Children who have no siblings are allowed more. Ther haven't got accustomed to sharing their things with the others and so they are selfish. It is a negative situation.
Furthermore, what is particularly important and what we should notably take into account, as parents, is our children's cultural and social life. Today children can quickly get into bad company and letting them do whatever they want, or leaving it without any control is not a very good idea.
What is more, children are sometimes lost, they do not think of what they do and what it can cause in the future. Parents' role is to take care of that and sometimes they need to permit something to prevent children from more significant problems.
On the other hand, we need to ask ourselves a question whether children will obey our strict rules and prohibition. What will happen if they become riotous? Sometimes we need to leave them alone and let them learn something from their own mistakes.
To sum up, in my opinion in most cases indeed parents are too permissive for their children, but on the other hand, I am aware that such behavior is based on many social and cultural factors.
in my 2 cent opinions, one of the main reason for being permissive is that the parents don't give proper attention towards their child which they deserve.Parents love is measured by materialistic things like toys, gadgets instead of spending quality time and sharing the feelings of their children. Children have their own problem which should be addressed in time. Child do the same things what ever you taught to him. Excessive use of gadgets give children more liberty and confidence. so in the end you have to be permissive as parents. As a parent all you need is to give proper time to your children and understand his/her problem. @hamzayousaf
It is important to respond to children when they misbehave, and when they behave well.
Methods of discipline need to fit with your child's age, abilities and needs. This may mean you will use different ways for each child within your family. You will need to change them as your child grows older. Confidence and liberty need to fit with child's age, abilities and needs under parental guidance.

Parents are always thinking positive for their children and try to take children near by them,,So they are very permissive ,,Now a days, Children are influenced by the bad habit ,,so parents are worried for them,,
They don't want bad for children,,As a result they are very permissive ,i think

Good addition @nishuxr ..i liked your views Really permissive parents tend to be very loving, yet provide few guidelines and rules. These parents do not expect mature behavior from their children and often seem more like a friend than a parental figure.
Discipline is important, no doubt, but in my opinion, too much discipline is bad, because it can shatter the confidence of your child. Moreover, in this rapidly changing wolrd, we should encourage our children to explore things by themselves too. Just spoon feeding information to them would not be enough.
Right said @hmushtaq Descipline, Confidence and support at balanced level are the greatest gifts parents can give their child. we should encourage children's interests. Sometimes parents don't support their children right interests. Children are born with marvelous imaginations and a keen desire to explore so they must be encouraged by their parents.
Yeah!!! @hamzayousaf, you got it right on point. Civilization is one of the factor contributing to this permissive attitude of our modern parents, and that's why we don't have a better society nowadays. I pledge we do it right because charity begin at home, and if the home get it right, the society will be right definitely. Good topic for be discuss.
Parents who are permissive tend their children to have high self esteem, good social skills ..

Parenting in today's world is more difficult especially with mobile phones, internet and social media. There is an avalanche of information both good and bad, so it's up to the parents to teach and guide their children properly. Otherwise children are easily brainwashed and misled into negative stuff. I think parents need to be extra cautious in this day and age :)

in a resturent of America my brother saw a little boy with his parents but he didn't eat.... my brother asked him why he didn't eat he answered cause he can't earn... There is no iqram between them... a child started hate there parents from then.... they as much as love there dog but don't there parents... In this side if you see south asian country like Pakisthan, India, Bangladesh, Srilanka they thought there parents everything..... its our environment.....which thing we applied to our child one day they will give us feed back....

I am 100% agree in your thought. We could say that parents are responsible for his child. If anything doing wrong then his parents didn't teach.
