Great video, I really enjoyed your thoughts on this. I think you've identified the core difference from the 90's (as well as putting it in context with the 90's, which is brilliant) - political correctness has teeth, much larger sharper teeth than it did 20 years ago.
Have you read the book by Jon Ronson "So You've Been Publicly Shamed"? It goes into some detail on the shape of these teeth, and shows that it cuts both ways, that it can often harm the attacker too. It's a really interesting topic but regarding the Munk debate I agree with you, it was disappointing that they didn't really grapple with the issue, except the exemplary Stephen Fry, who wanted to but didn't get much of a chance.
