A Glimpse of Earning My Income

I’m on a job, dropping trees for a neighbor. She was worried about them falling on a soon-to-be-built storage building I’m constructing for her in the next month.

I’m loading the log rounds onto the trailer and sticking smaller ones in the Jeep for turning on the wood lathe. I’ll turn and make things from as much of this wood as I can before it cracks on me, then the rest will be fuel for my wood stove in the workshop come winter. Yeah, it’ll be “green” still, but it’s just for my shop. It’s okay.

Paid to drop trees - ✅
Put the wood to a long lasting use as an Art piece - ✅
Make money from selling the above art pieces at shows or online - ✅
Save some heating costs for workshop in winter by using the wood as fuel - ✅
Spend more time in the warm shop in winter making more items to sell or further provide for my family - ✅

I’m not bragging. Rather, I’m showing you how I am making the most out of every bit to go as far as it can to benefit us.

Frugal thinking is key to us being able to live our lives on these terms—our terms—that we’ve set.

I'm a great fan of multipurposing and making the most of everything. It must be getting around, because even my daughter's friend sends her links to things that she thinks I'd approve of, like kitchen equipment powered by exercise bike! Lol

Nature is a great teacher who wastes nothing.

It is a nice trend to see... especially in an otherwise bad-news world. :)

You’ve got some pretty art pieces @greenacrehome!
