RE: Purpose: Destiny, Delusion, And The Discovery Of Truth...

in #life7 years ago

I like the way you think :) I'm not sure of the exact quote but it's one of my favorites from Socrates - "The one thing I know for certain is that I know nothing." All we can do is exactly what you're talking about here because there doesn't seem to be a way to know the actual truth. Is there a purpose or isn't there? Do I focus and wonder about it or just let it go? Do I share my beliefs or keep them to myself? I know what my answer is for myself and then I go out into the world and encounter people like you with their own way of doing things where possibilities are shared. Information exchanged and we take it and move on.

I think the one thing each human has in common is that we're all looking for truth. The way we find it, in my belief, is through interacting with each other and then processing it with whatever existing programs we have in our lifetime. Maybe we have "... to follow someone else's well-positioned "expert advice" than man-up and think for ourselves,..." for the time being because that's the only way to move forward and gain knowledge and experience for ourselves, etc.

I've gone from being an atheist who was completely okay with there being an eternal nothing waiting for us after death, to believing in God in the sense that we're all just a part of the same entity and we just happen to wake back up in the soul dimension after we die. In any case, it's been a long process getting me from here to there. The one thing keeping me going was an open mind and a drive to learn the truth. Have I found it? I have no idea. Most likely not but I feel closer to it than I was before. And maybe I'll think something completely different again somewhere down the road. I think each person is doing the same thing in life at their own pace. Who knows or cares if it's the right or the wrong way? Finding truth, in essence, is finding happiness. And everyone is always looking for that balance innately.

But I don't know! I can only talk about it :D

Have you ever read Michael Newton's books about our lives between lives? He's a hypnotherapist who regressed hundreds of people to what they all describe as our actual home. "Journey of Souls". Really interesting.

Thanks for your perspective on things :)
