Trait Of A Great Leader You Should Learn From Or Become.

in #life6 years ago

A man (or woman so to be clear) will often time get exactly what he is expecting from others. If he wants friendship and go all out to get it, he will most likely get in abundance. And a man that goes looking for trouble often end up getting more than he bargained for. Men are not automatically bad or good, they are always molded by their experiences or environment. Even one with a reputation of been bad can be stimulated to show off his good qualities to a leader who looks beyond the bad reputation and seems to think they have good qualities.

A good leader will make people have confidence in him, while a great leader inspires others to have confidence in themselves. Many leaders are only interested in people getting the job done, they will but will likely be all they will do...get the job done. There are however leaders that are not only interested in getting the job done but also get their 'followers done', these followers go extra mile and do more than is expected of them. They become a loyal and faithful followers forever even when they are no longer under that leader.
Like James F. Lincoln says

A strong leader knows that if he develops his associates he will be even stronger.

It is therefore the social obligation of any leader in whatever capacity to be certain the followers are functioning at peak performance physically and psychologically. He must see that the jobs are adequately split and their time pressures are reduced. They have periodic medical check ups and psychological evaluations. A great leader ensure and 'fight' for the well being of his followers in every way he can.

According to a psychologist who studied different leaders from criminals to army officers to students leaders found three traits that were common to them all which are speed of decision, finality of decision and self confidence. But there are two types of leaders in general, those that are interested and care about the flock and that are only interested in the fleece. You definitely don't want to work for or be the latter.

Nice post, thanks for your motivation @golddeejay

Thank you @nicholax. I am glad you found the post worthy.

With proper treatment of his workers, a leader empowers his own self. Makes sense.

The final point at the end really hit home for me. There are leaders who are interested In the flock and then those that are only interested in the fleece and you don’t want to be one of those that are only interested in the fleece @swt3df1
