REGARDLESS OF BAD GOVERNANCE, WE CAN FIX OUR LIVES WITH INTERNET.

There are no many places in the world that define bad governance than my Country. I can go on and on about what the government did or didn't do (which is a lot) that is affecting the lives of the people especially the youth but that is not the purpose of this post.

Recently I was in the same place with a group of four youth while trying to put finishing touches to a post. For about an hour, the young people were complaining bitterly about the state of the country and how bad the Government is. You can easily hear and feel their frustration and hatred for the Government in their voices. I have heard this conversation all over even from the older folks.

The anger and frustration of these young men are genuine. Most of the social amenities taken almost for granted in the developed countries are just not available or working here. If you ever see a young man or woman making it here legally, please doff your hat for the youth. Any good policy put in place to ease the pain of the youth by the Government will be scuppered by the same government. The people are no longer excited by new policies or government, it has always been the same old story in all sectors.

As a youth in my country, one can effortlessly write a whole book on the challenges the youth are facing. The situation is so fucked up. But what can you do about it?...Yea, nothing. Unless you want to start a revolution of sort which is even harder or riskier here. But you can do something about your life, you can fix your life regardless of the Government.

This is definitely the best time to be on the surface of the earth, you know why? We have the internet! Its just that a lot of people in my country have not realize the amazing potential in it, they are using it wrong. The guys that spark this post are no strangers to me, I see them around the bet9ja (name of a betting company) shop all the time trying to rich overnight from betting. Don't get it twisted, I am no saint as I also place bet once in a while but my life and time don't revolve around it.

The internet for me and others is a getaway from bad governance, hardships, poor education and so on. I read a blog of a young man with passion and hunger for good music which the university can't fill because of poor facilities, lack of studio and competent supervisors. But he didn't give up he is using the ocean of information on the internet to sharpen his musical skills.

After all said and done. It is your life, you are to take responsibility for it because the consequence is yours. So don't go all social on internet, get the best out of it. It gives you 'unfair' advantage or start, like the founders of the social media a lot of young folks are pathetically addicted to.
Reading this, you are on the right track - yea, you are on Steemit. And right here is one of the many good things you can get out of the internet. I have been in different online endeavors but Steemit takes the crown. But beware of the hype, it is not another get rich quick scheme. It requires hardwork and rewards it.

All I am saying is - you can use the Internet to fix your life.
