Development is not a time-dependent concept. Time does not bring experience. It is the experience that provides development and experience. Learning from the essays and learning something matures. Success in this cause brings success.
If you don't act, you're less likely to meet opportunities. Planned movements attract good opportunities. Planned and conscious work brings success soon.
The only missing motivation is in books and movies. If you are intrinsically motivated, you don't need them anyway.
If you are short of goal setting, continue working until you find a target (or target is found). In the beginning you can start untargeted and unplanned. You will get a goal and plan over time.
So how do we work? The easiest start is to read. Don't start with books that bother you. Start with the books that interest you. Learning languages or solving mathematics is a way of development, a beginning. Writing a poem can be seen as a study tool that develops and matures you. Wishing you to love working more than laziness. Good work.
