Sense 8 - multiculturalism at its best.

In a time when being part of the world rather than the country, is being frowned upon... the beauty in this Netflix show is amazing.

Minor spoilers below!

8 people from around the world, born at the same exact moment, are telepathically connected. The show reveals their lives and their attempts to fight a stronger telepath out to get them. Every episode jumps from India, Germany, Chicago, San Francisco, Nairobi, Korea, Iceland and Mexico.

This level of world view from the Wachowskis makes you hopeful for the world around.

The story lines of each character revel in the difficult situations of each country. An Indian woman who can't get over her sexuality and inexperience, a German gangster who can't get out of the business of being bad, a Chicago cop who is being followed by an insane telepath, a San Fran transvestite who is on the run from the law, a Nairobi bus driver who is tired of being scared of war lords of his city, a Korean woman hated by her family because she doesn't fit the docile role society wants from her, an Icelandic DJ who is the beginning of the telpethic connection and, a Mexican action star who's career and life have been ruined because he has been outed as gay.

Each plot line could be a show in it's own right. But the teleported and disconnected direction aided by the characters telapethic connection leads to a dissonance that is also somehow hopeful.

The German gangster is the love interest of the married Indian woman. The Chicago cop is aided and loved by the Icelandic DJ. The Nairobi bus driver is defended by the South Korean badass martial arts master. The Mexican actor is being guided by the transvestite on how to reveal and be OK with his homosexuality. Yet most of these people are countries apart connected only by their telepathy.

Every time I watch the show all I think about is how in a broad sense the Wachowski's are telling us that if we, the world, work together we can accomplish anything. Makes you long for a better world.

Season 2 releases on Netflix in May 2017. You have a whole Season 1 and a Christmas special to watch before hand.

PS: Because they are eight telepathic people... Practically every sex scene is an orgy!

Sort:

i saw this. it promotes distortion of many facts about humanity.
i think that almost every single show on CW and Syfy are at least as bad.
this is cultural marxism used as a disruption agent to create societal strife.
creating false expectations, and designed to subvert factual knowledge of natural human dynamics.

And what exactly is: natural human dynamics?

ok, so to compress 25 years of study in the Trivium, biochemistry, neurology, philosophy, psychology, sociology, linguistics, NLP, and religion into a comment on a blog post... oh, that's right, that is impossible.

i could recommend starting with the Classical Trivium and Quadrivium, and then go from there into the subjects listed to see how media is used to manipulate human consciousness.

You didn't answer my question.

i gave you the key to find the answers yourself. if i were to give you an answer that would be comprehensible, it would take so much time that i would have to charge fees, and give up my own research.
