Hello dear steemians.

I 'd like to thank all of you for sending your positive thinking in order the 2 days ago big fire to Samos island , Hellas become controlled and avoid a bigger disaster. Thankfully since late last night all the professionals and volunteers did their best despite the strong and variable wind to achieve that .
Today the major problem are the resemblances because of the wind which is stronger than the previous days . Firefighting Helicopters are still flying and making targeted water throws .

Hopefully all will be ended by tomorrow.

My question is , why they insist to make arsons in this particular area for a 3rd year in a row? What is their goal ? New group of wind generators maybe? New land for sale ?

I hope everything goes well and they finally leave the forest and the beings in it to continue their life.

The truth is that Samos island , after the fire of 2000 that burned the 3/4 of the island in 8 days , has created the biggest volunteer's network in Hellas. The regional authority has made a quite good anti-fire network with roads inside the forest and is supporting with some money the volunteers for the maintanance of their old vehicles.

The problem is that they usually put the fires inside places that there are no access of water and at night so no aviation can support..

If it was arsony, only having a bigger force to patrol these areas will prevent this from happening again.
